Terms and Conditions — ChemAtelier for Canva

Last updated: 1 August 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of ChemAtelier (the "App"), provided by ChemoInfo Co., Ltd. ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in Japan. By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. The App

The App is a chemical structure editor that runs inside the Canva design editor. It allows you to draw chemical structures, import and export Molfile data, and add the resulting graphics to your Canva designs.

2. Licence

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App. You may use the App for both personal and commercial purposes, including in academic publications, presentations, teaching materials, and commercial documents.

3. Your content

You retain all rights to the chemical structures and designs you create using the App. We claim no ownership of your content and, as described in our Privacy Policy, we do not receive or store it.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except to the extent permitted by applicable law;
  • use the App in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
  • use the App to create content that is unlawful or that infringes the rights of others; or
  • interfere with or disrupt the operation of the App or of the Canva platform.

5. No warranty regarding chemical accuracy

The App is a drawing tool, not a scientific validation tool. It does not verify chemical validity, valence rules, stereochemistry, nomenclature, or the correctness of any structure you draw or import. Structures produced with the App may contain errors.

You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy and suitability of any structure before relying on it. Do not rely on the App as the sole source of chemical information for research, regulatory submissions, patent filings, safety assessments, clinical decisions, or any other purpose where an error could cause harm or loss.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with any particular system or workflow.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, research results, or business opportunities, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

8. Third-party platform

The App operates within Canva, which is provided by Canva Pty Ltd and is not controlled by us. Your use of Canva is governed by Canva's own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability, performance, or content of the Canva platform, and changes to that platform may affect the App.

9. Intellectual property

The App, including its name, logo, source code, and design, is owned by ChemoInfo Co., Ltd. and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any intellectual property rights to you.

10. Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App, or any of its features, at any time and without prior notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date above indicates when they were last revised. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by removing it from your Canva account. We may terminate or suspend your licence if you breach these Terms.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan.
